WCU Is Now Test-Optional!
August 5, 2020
West Chester University's Office of Admissions is changing our SAT/ACT requirement! Submitting SAT and/or ACT scores will be an optional, not required, part of the admissions process for students applying to attend WCU in the Fall 2021. We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for students to take or retake standardized tests.
At WCU, our goal is to make the application process as simple and stress-free as possible.
Do you have questions about this new policy? We are here to help!
Q: Will I be penalized for not submitting test scores?
A: Absolutely not! Students will not be disadvantaged in any way for declining to submit test scores.
Q: I took the SAT/ACT already. Can I submit those scores if I want to?
A: Yes, you still have the option to submit test scores, but remember that you will not be penalized for not doing so.
Q: Do I need to submit test scores for nursing or another competitive major?
A: Nope! None of our majors are requiring SAT/ACT scores for Fall 2021 enrollment.
Q: Will this policy be in place for Fall 2022 admission?
A: Right now, this is a one-year admissions amendment. It will be reevaluated following the enrolling of the Class of 2021.
It is now easier than ever to apply to WCU! Start by completing the online application via the Common App and paying the $45 application fee or submitting an approved fee waiver. Then students will need to submit their official high school transcript to complete their application. WCU's Fall and Spring 2021 applications are both available. We look forward to receiving and reviewing your application!
