Mike Reno

Mike serves as the Director of Campus Recreation, providing strategic leadership and oversight for the department. He leads and supervises the professional staff while overseeing the development and administration of the department’s budget. Mike also guides the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of Campus Recreation facilities and equipment and coordinates capital projects that support the department’s operations, programs, and long-term facility needs.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys coaching basketball and spending time with his family. Mike holds a Master of Science in Athletic Administration.

Dan Comas

Dan Comas, EdD, MBA, MS

Dan oversees the daily operations of Campus Recreation facilities and provides leadership and supervision for student staff. He is responsible for scheduling and coordinating facility rental requests. As the Building Administrator for the Student Recreation Center, Dan helps ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently while managing department budgets. He also organizes and fulfills all recreation equipment rental requests for the campus community.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys basketball and officiates games at both the high school and small college levels.
He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Policy, Planning, and Administration as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Krista Link

Administrative Assistant

Krista provides administrative support to the Campus Recreation professional staff and assists with the department’s day-to-day operations. She coordinates new employee onboarding and payroll processes and compiles, prepares, and maintains departmental records to support accurate and efficient operations.

Outside of work, Krista enjoys spending time with family, baking, reading, and going for long walks early in the morning.

Demitrius Issac

Demetrius oversees the administration of Campus Recreation’s Sport Club and Intramural Sport programs, including the coordination of intramural leagues and tournaments. He develops and implements risk management protocols for Sport Clubs and provides leadership and supervision for Intramural and Sport Club student staff to support safe, engaging, and well-organized recreational opportunities for students.

Outside of work, he enjoys coaching and watching baseball, watching/playing basketball, traveling and spending time with family members and friends. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

ashley Oostveen

Ashley oversees Campus Recreation’s Group Fitness program, providing leadership and guidance to ensure instructors deliver high-quality, inclusive classes designed to support participants across all fitness levels. She leads the department’s marketing and promotional efforts and coordinates special events. Ashley also collaborates with Health & Wellness partners and other campus departments to develop programs and initiatives that connect students with recreation and wellness resources.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys baking for her Rec family, spoiling her dog, and working on house projects and decorating. She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Policy, Planning, and Administration and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology.

Kayla oversees Campus Recreation’s Climbing Wall and Outdoor Adventure Pursuits (OAP) trips, providing leadership for experiential and outdoor recreation opportunities. She coordinates the training and development of Climbing Wall attendants and trip guides and supports the campus community through experiential leadership development programs. As the Building Administrator for Ehinger Gymnasium, Kayla also helps oversee the facility’s daily operations and ensures a safe and welcoming environment for participants.

Outside of work, Kayla enjoys climbing, practicing martial arts, and enjoying the outdoors with her dog. Kayla holds a Master of Arts in Homeland Security and is currently working to complete a Doctor of Public Administration (D.P.A.)
