THERE IS NO EMERGENCY AT WCU AT THIS TIME.

Date: 02/26/2026

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, between 10 – 10:15 AM, the University will conduct a test on components of the Emergency Alert System, specifically mass emails, website posting, digital signage, text messages, and the external notification system.

More information on the University’s external notification system.

IN AN EMERGENCY, the official source for continuously updated emergency information, directions and instructions is the WCU homepage. (Helpful hint – Use the "Refresh" button to be certain the latest information is available.)

To receive emergency notification text messages, register for WCU ALERT. WCU ALERT is West Chester University's free emergency notification system which sends text messages to cell phones (SMS), wireless PDAs and e-mail addresses.

If you have already registered for WCU ALERT but DID NOT receive a “test” text message on your cell phone, take this opportunity to validate or update your existing account, especially if you have made any recent changes in cell phone numbers or providers. If you are experiencing any problems visit the WCU ALERT webpage or contact WCUAlertSupport@wcupa.edu.

This email has been sent to all WCU students, faculty, and staff.

THIS IS A TEST - THERE IS NO EMERGENCY AT WCU AT THIS TIME.
