Position Responsibilities:
Audiovisual, Customer Service, Data Input, General Office, Graphic Design, Office Ambassador, Social Media
Involves the following:
• Confidential or sensitive data/information
• Handling cash, checks, or credit card transactions
• Handling financial, student or personnel data/records
• Possessing keys/codes or other means of entry to spaces within university offices or student housing
This position will provide general assistance with:
Assists projects assigned by the Office Staff, Faculty, Undergraduate Coordinator, Associate Dean, and Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
Specific duties as they relate to this department:
Clerical work (shredding paperwork, making copies, restocking paper, mailings, answering the phone), directing visitors & answering their questions, working with Microsoft Office Suite, delivering paperwork and depositing checks at locations on-campus, postings, designing and managing advertisements.
Learning Outcomes:
Students are afforded the opportunity to know the Office Staff of the School of Music, which most work study students are students of, and the behind the scenes operations that run both their curriculum and concerts. In addition, many of these students make friends whom they remain until they graduate and post-college careers. Students learn the professionalism that go into running an office and computer skills, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and business related software. Lastly, they learn customer service skills whilst employed for the CVPA.
