Position Responsibilities:
Data Input, General Office, Library
Involves the following:
• Confidential or sensitive data/information
• Handling financial, student or personnel data/records
• Being responsible for/or providing services to anyone under the age of 18
This position will provide general assistance with:
Student employees provide assistance to staff by answering customer inquiries, checking out books to customers, checking in books upon return, answering the phone, updating patron records, shelving books, maintaining the stacks and assisting with ongoing projects. Student employees also record statistics on customer interactions and provides basic technology assistance.
Specific duties as they relate to this department:
• Providng customer service and answering basic questions. • Checking in and out books. • Shelving books and maintaining the stacks. • Providing basic maintenance of computers, printers, and other equipment. • Providing first-level trouble shooting of computers, software, and equipment. • Track and report issues to appropriate staff. • Record statistics on customer interactions.
Learning Outcomes:
Employment at the circulation desk provides student workers with first-hand customer service experience. They learn courtesy and master basic problem-solving skills. The student will also have the opportunity to gain a sense of responsibility and afford him/her the opportunity to learn skills and abilities required to work in a professional office environment. They may develop or expand their technology skills.

This position will provide general assistance with:
Student employees work under staff supervision at all times. Student employees provide assistance to staff by answering patron inquiries, charging books to patrons, discharging books upon return, answering the phone, updating patron records, shelving books, maintaining the stacks and assisting with ongoing projects as required.
Specific duties as they relate to this department:
•Charging books to patrons. •Discharging books upon return. •Shelving books. •Maintaining the stacks. GENERAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES DESIRED: Strong work ethic. Reliability is a must. Friendly. Great customer service attitude. Strong communication skills. Personable telephone and face to face manner. Computer comfort, knowledge and skills with Microsoft word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint is helpful. Ability to work with basic office equipment. Enthusiastic and positive attitude. Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail. Be mature. Attentive listener. Ability to complete goals and task assigned. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Open to suggestions and growth.
