How long are clearances good for? 
Clearances are valid for one year from the issue date and cannot expire mid-semester.

What browser should I use for PA Child Abuse Clearance?  
You must use Chrome or Firefox. Do not use Safari.

What if I already have a PA Child Abuse Clearance account but cannot remember my Keystone ID or password?
After selecting Individual Login: You can find your username and ID by using the Forgot User ID or Forgot Password links on the side of the login page.  If nothing comes up, create a new individual account

  How much do clearances cost?

  • PA Child Abuse Clearance: $13
  • PA State Police Clearance: $22
  • FBI Fingerprinting: $25 (outside of PA, additional $25 charge)
  • TB Test: WCU Student Health Center: $45
    • Other locations: depends on insurance and other factors, call location for pricing 

How do I find out if a course requires clearances?
Go to the CESW Website; Courses Requiring Clearances.

Where can I find the due dates for clearances each semester?
Go to the CESW Website; Educator Clearances page.

How do I get the results from my PA State Police clearance check?
Find your assigned control number from PATCH email.  Visit ePatch, and select Check the Status of a Record.

When scheduling for FBI (fingerprints) what code should I use?
Use the code 1KG6RT

How often must I update my TB test?
Students submit a TB test once unless student teaching or a school district requires an update. Student teachers must update their TB test within 90 days before student teaching.

Is a specific TB test form required?
No. You may use the WCU TB Test form or submit documentation on your healthcare provider’s letterhead that includes your results, address, and signature. If blood test was completed, a copy of the lab report must also be attached.

How do I upload clearances to RamPortal?
Navigate to RamPortal → Student Forms → Upload Clearances for Educator Preparation/Ed Specialists. Select the document type from the dropdown menu, upload your file, and click Submit.
