WCU Dance Company Presents The Fall Dance Concert On Nov. 6 & 7
Performances Feature Guest Choreographers Meghan Frederick and Nicole Sabella, and Original Works by Eight Student Choreographers
The West Chester University (WCU) Dance Company will present its Fall Concert on Friday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre in the Swope Music Building and Performing Arts Center, 817 S. High St., West Chester. Tickets are available at https://wcupatix.com/theatreanddance.
The concert will showcase the creativity and versatility of WCU's student dancers through a diverse program featuring choreography by eight student artists, faculty choreographer Gretchen Studlien-Webb, and guest choreographers Meghan Frederick and Nicole Sabella.
The program spans a range of dance styles, including contemporary, jazz, modern, tap, and musical theatre, offering audiences an engaging mix of movement, musicality, and storytelling. One featured work by Studlien-Webb draws inspiration from jazz music of the late 1950s and 1960s, blending bluesy influences, playful humor, and retro hip swagger.
The Fall Concert provides an opportunity for WCU student choreographers (Teagan Bittner, Elya Bergstein, Sam Calabro, Mariah Marrero, Danielle Myers, Carly Nelson, Vivian Schreiber, Gabby Tomczak) and performers to develop their artistic voices while sharing their work with the university and the surrounding community. Through its variety of styles and creative approaches, the production celebrates the breadth of dance and the collaborative spirit of the University Dance Company.
The concert's guest artists bring distinctive perspectives and extensive professional experience to the WCU stage.
