WCU Celebrates National Transfer Student Week

Nearly one-quarter of our fall 2026 degree-seeking student population — 24% — started their academic career at WCU as transfer students.

Students attending Transfer Student Week eventsIt’s great time to begin a new tradition of celebrating WCU transfer students with events, activities, and freebies throughout National Transfer Student Week, which launched October 19.

For this inaugural celebration, social events are helping transfers get to know one another. Special sessions both in person and virtually invite them to learn more about campus resources by dropping in at open houses such as at the Twardowski Career Development Center, the One Stop Student Service Center, and with the registrar. There are giveaways, free refreshments, and plenty of swag plus a grand prize of a semester parking pass to a campus garage.

“This year we are excited to celebrate our transfer students during WCU’s inaugural National Transfer Student Week,” said Johny Tadros, assistant director for transfer student support in Academic Support and Advocacy.

“Our transfer students are an important part of WCU’s Golden Rams community, and we are so glad we can support their stories and journeys for an entire week. Our hope is for our transfer students to feel welcome, seen, heard, and celebrated.”
