WCU’s Dept. of Theatre & Dance Presents Shakespeare’s HENRY V, April 9 - 12
West Chester University’s Department of Theatre & Dance proudly presents William Shakespeare’s Henry V, April 9–12, 2026. This gripping historical drama brings to life one of Shakespeare’s most celebrated heroes in a story of leadership, courage, and transformation.
Performances take place in the MainStage Theatre, E.O. Bull Center for the Arts, 2 East Rosedale Avenue, West Chester. Performance times are Thursday, April 9, Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. General admission tickets range from $12.50 – $23. Directed by Associate Professor of Theatre Leonard Kelly, Henry V is a powerful coming-of-age story that has inspired audiences for centuries. Filled with intrigue, betrayal, and adventure, it follows a young king who must navigate political instability in England while also waging war against France in the ongoing Hundred Years War. At the famous Battle of Agincourt, the 28-year-old Henry unites and rallies his rag-tag troops against a superior force and impossible odds with one of the most famous speeches in theatrical history.

The Department of Theatre and Dance at West Chester University, an accredited institution of the National Association of Schools of Theatre, prepares students for the professional and the academic worlds of Theatre and Dance, while raising student awareness of civility, diversity, creativity, problem-solving, and social responsibility. The department offers a BA Theatre degree program with elective concentrations in Musical Theatre, Performance, and Design and Production, in addition to a dance minor and theatre minor.
