West Chester University Announces Diverse Summer Camps for Youth and Teens
West Chester University is welcoming students back to campus this summer with a wide range of engaging and affordable camps designed to inspire creativity, build skills, and provide a taste of college life.
With more than 20 programs available for students ages 7 to 22, the University’s summer camps offer high-quality enrichment opportunities across the arts, academics, athletics, and career exploration. Programs are led by expert faculty, student-athletes, and industry professionals, and take place in WCU’s state-of-the-art campus facilities.
From first-time campers to college-bound high school students, participants can explore
their interests while staying active and engaged throughout the summer.
A Camp for Every Interest
West Chester University’s summer offerings span a wide variety of disciplines:
- Music Camps through the Wells School of Music provide instruction for elementary through high school students, including specialized programs such as the Summer Jazz Camp and High School Music Institute.
- Visual Art Camp invites young artists ages 7–15 to experiment with painting, drawing, ceramics, mixed media, and digital art while developing their own creative voice.
- Writing Programs, including the long-running Young Writers/Young Readers camp, help students in grades 1–11 strengthen their storytelling and communication skills with guidance from certified teachers.
- Theatre Programs through the Pennsylvania Theatre Institute offer immersive training for aspiring performers, from youth camps to a pre-college intensive experience.
- Athletics Camps cover a full slate of sports, including basketball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, gymnastics, and more, along with aquatics and safety instruction.
- Career Exploration Camps give high school students a head start on future pathways, including the Health Career Summer Academy and iCamp Academy, which focuses on media, technology, and social impact projects.
Programs take place directly on West Chester University’s campus, giving students
access to professional-grade facilities and, for select camps, the opportunity to
experience residential life with on-campus housing and dining options.
Designed to be both enriching and accessible, WCU’s summer camps emphasize hands-on learning, personal growth, and collaboration—all in a supportive university environment.
Registration for summer camps is currently open, with programs running throughout June, July, and early August. Early registration discounts may be available for select camps, and many programs fill quickly.
