In this modern adaptation of Faust, the story follows Dr. Halder—a seemingly moral man living in 1930s Germany—as he
becomes entangled in the rising influence of the Third Reich. As the line between
good intentions and dangerous choices begins to blur, this psychological drama, infused
with dark irony, examines how even the noblest traits can be manipulated in the pursuit
of power. Due to mature themes, this production is recommended for high school-aged
audiences and older.
The Department of Theatre and Dance at West Chester University, an accredited institution of the National Association
of Schools of Theatre, prepares students for the professional and the academic worlds
of Theatre and Dance, while raising student awareness of civility, diversity, creativity,
problem-solving, and social responsibility. The department offers a BA Theatre degree
program with elective concentrations in Musical Theatre, Performance, and Design and
Production, in addition to a dance minor and theatre minor.
