More than 1,100 to Graduate at WCU’s Winter Commencement Ceremonies

There are 1,124 students poised to begin the next chapters of their lives following graduation from West Chester University at four separate winter commencement exercises being held Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13. All ceremonies will take place in Hollinger Field House on North Campus.

Three ceremonies organized by college will accommodate the 863 undergraduate students eligible to graduate at the University’s undergraduate commencement ceremonies. The number of graduates includes 12 students who completed their coursework at the Philadelphia location this summer or this fall.

In addition, 261 graduate-level students from all of the University’s colleges and sites will receive their degrees together at a 3 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, December 13. This number includes 5 students who completed their coursework at the Philadelphia location this summer or this fall.

Tickets are required for all ceremonies. All ceremonies will be live streamed for those who do not have tickets or cannot attend. Recordings of each ceremony will be posted to the Commencement website.

Graduates and their guests are strongly encouraged to park for free in the Sharpless Garage or use overflow parking in the New Street Garage. The two garages will be free during the ceremonies only.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Borough of West Chester’s Christkindlmarkt takes place this Saturday, December 13, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gay Street will be closed between Matlack Street and Darlington Street from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Church Street will be closed from Chestnut Street to Market Street. All the cross streets (Walnut, High Street, and Darlington) will remain open. Special event parking fees will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at all borough garages and uptown lots. The cost is $20 per car.
