Research and Creative Activity Day Is April 17

research dayWest Chester University’s annual Research and Creative Activity Day showcases excellence in academic inquiry from all of the University’s six colleges and two schools in a celebration of knowledge and discovery. Nearly 150 faculty and students are participating in this year’s program on Wednesday, April 17, held in Sykes Student Union ballrooms (110 West Rosedale Avenue) from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day’s activities are free and open to the public.

In both oral and poster presentations, these scholars discuss their research, including on such topics as:

  • How contemplative practices such as mindfulness and breathing exercises help athletes, college students, and others.
  • Training healthcare professionals in culinary medicine and food sensory evaluation incorporating the science of food and medical nutrition therapy.
  • Parenting and well-being intervention for adolescent mothers in Chester County.
  • Developing algorithms for object tracking and facial detection using drones.
