Miss WCU Scholarship Organization to Hold 25th Live Competition Highlighting Leadership, Academic Achievement and Service to the Community

Miss WCU 2022 Julie Stinson crowning Madelyn Rowan with the 2023 crownMiss West Chester University (WCU) will host its 25th live competition on February 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the University’s Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, at 700 South High Street. Eight WCU students will compete for more than $3,000 in scholarships through an inclusive contest that focuses on leadership, academic achievement, and service to the community. Tickets are $14 and are available at wcupatix.com with proceeds benefiting program scholarships.

Over its 25-year history, Miss WCU has awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships to hundreds of WCU women. The competition is comprised of five categories: interview, casual wear, talent, on-stage question, and evening wear. Eight finalists are competing for the Miss WCU 2024 title. The competition, hosted by Holly Harrar, former Miss Philadelphia, will also feature a full production show with appearances from Rammy, WCU’s Dance Team, and Under A Rest A Cappella group.

The program will also feature the current Miss WCU, Madelyn Rowan, a junior International Business and Supply Chain Management major who has spent the last year serving the community.

Rowan says impacting the community has been the most rewarding part of holding the Miss WCU title.

“Although I am sad that my year is coming to an end, I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the 25th Miss WCU competition and watch another young woman’s dreams come true,” she said.

Miss WCU is supported annually by the WCU Pageants Student Organization, the Miss WCU Alumni Chapter, local businesses, and numerous volunteers. The event is open to the community.
