The Jess Zimmerman Band – Country Music’s “Rising Stars” – to Perform at WCU on OCT. 7
Featuring past American Idol Contestant Jess Zimmerman, The Jess Zimmerman Band, Southeastern PA’s country music rising stars, will take center stage at West Chester University for one performance only during ROCKTOBERFEST on Saturday, October 7, at 8 p.m., in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, Philips Memorial Building, 700 S. High Street, West Chester. Tickets are $20, $10 for students with valid I.D., and can be purchased at http://wcupatix.com/organization-events. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the seating is General Admission. The band will do a meet and greet with audience members following the performance. Proceeds from ROCKTOBERFEST will help support travel expenses for West Chester University criminal justice students planning to attend the American Criminal Justice Association National Conference in Dallas, Texas.
The Jess Zimmerman Band (JZBand) has taken country music by storm with their sweet blend of country and rock music. The award winning JZ Band has written and recorded three records at OmniSound Studios in Nashville, TN, and has opened shows and shared the stage with artists such as Hunter Hayes, Little Big Town, Toby Keith, Trace Atkins, Kane Brown, Jimmie Allen, High Valley, and Drew Baldridge. Based in Southeastern, PA, the JZ Band is winner of numerous Central Pennsylvania Music Awards including Best Country Band, Album of the Year, Best Female Vocalist, and Entertainer of the Year. The JZ Band has also been nominated for the 2023 Country Music Josie Awards in Nashville, TN, for Entertainer of the Year and Vocalist of the Year.
Associate Professor and Faculty Advisor in the Dept. of Criminal Justice Christopher Przemieniecki says, “We are thrilled to bring The Jess Zimmerman Band to West Chester University. We invite students, parents, alumni, and members of the community to join us for what we know will be a fantastic show. Audience members will have a great time while also supporting our Criminal Justice students.”
The Criminal Justice Student Association is one of West Chester University’s largest student organizations. Each year, the membership raises money to fund travel expenses for students to attend the American Criminal Justice Association National Conference. This year’s competition takes place in Dallas, TX, from March 17 -24, 2024. Additional fundraising events this year include performances on January 26 and 27 by comedian Joe Conklin with the City Rhythm Orchestra.
