LARGEST FIRST-YEAR CLASS IN WCU’s HISTORY WILL MOVE-IN AUGUST 23, 2023!
3,030 First-Year Students Will Arrive & Unpack in North Campus Residence Halls
West Chester University will soon welcome the LARGEST FIRST-YEAR CLASS in its Golden Ram history — 3,030 first-year students, including a 4% increase in out-of-state students!Hauling and unpacking all the essentials needed for college life, first-year students will arrive and move into their North Campus residence halls, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., beginning August 23 and through August 24. (The biggest move-in day for the Class of 2027 will be on August 23.) Groups of students will check in and move into their new homes according to pre-selected timeslots. WCU’s North Campus is bound by South High Street, Sharpless Street, South New Street, and West Rosedale Avenue (see link to campus map here: https://www.wcupa.edu/campusMap/).
Upon the arrival of new students on August 23, a “ramified” Welcome Week of activities will be held for all Golden Rams as they settle into their home-away-from-home and get ready to study hard for the academic year ahead. A series of weeklong activities will help new students get to know their University. Here are some highlights:

August 24, 2 – 4 PM (LOCATION: Sykes Student Union Lounge, 110 West Rosedale Avenue, West Chester, PA)3,000+ First-Year Students Will Create a Human Formation of “2027” --- Their Class Year!!!
August 27, 4 – 6 PM (LOCATION: Academic Quad)Students will gather on the Academic Quad with Rammy the mascot, WCU President Christopher Fiorentino, WCU Executive Vice President & Provost Jeffery Osgood, the president of the Student Government Association, and other members of the WCU community to enjoy music, fun, free food, and a Class of 2027 t-shirt. This will be the largest class photo ever taken on West Chester University’s campus.
Returning sophomores, juniors, and seniors will move into their North Campus residence halls, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., August 26 -27.
The first day of in-person classes for all students will be August 28. The University expects fall 2023 enrollment to exceed 16,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Official fall 2023 enrollment numbers will be available on the 15th day of class.
