Environmentalist and activist Erin Brockovich became a 20th century icon overnight thanks to Julia Roberts' Oscar-winning tour de force portrayal in the 2000 film named for her. Brockovich's dogged persistence was the impelling force behind the $333 million paid by Pacific Gas & Electric to residents of Hinkley, California, for groundwater contamination. It was the largest medical settlement lawsuit in history. A modern-day icon who welcomes taking on the voice for the sometimes voiceless, Brockovich has leant her ardent support to many compelling environmental causes. Brockovich motivates audiences with her life experiences, her four steps to success, and her advocacy for causes that matter.
