Art + Design Exhibits Phil Jamison Retrospective through October 14
WCU’s Department of Art + Design Presents the FREE public exhibit Phil Jamison Retrospective now through October 14 in John H. Baker Gallery, E.O. Bull Center for the Arts, 2 E. Rosedale Avenue, West Chester. Hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. An opening lecture will be held on Wednesday, September 14, from 4 – 6 p.m.
The exhibit is a retrospective that celebrates the life of Phil Jamison, whose prolific career as a painter spanned 75 years until his death in 2021. Born in 1925, Jamison attended the Philadelphia College of Art after serving in the Navy during WWII. The exhibit includes many iconic watercolors and oils from the artist's personal collection, including scenes of Chester County, PA, and Vinalhaven, ME. There are also never-before seen sketches, photographs, portraits, and collages, showcasing his extensive talents.
