What I Love About WCU
By Melissa Goldberg, Class of 2022
I could truly write pages and pages about what I love about West Chester University, but three main reasons first come to mind when I reflect on my time at WCU.
-
CAMPUS
The medium-sized campus is just the right size and provides me with countless opportunities to get involved in anything I could ever imagine. Because of all the opportunities that West Chester provides, I have been able to pursue my interests in a variety of ways. I have been involved in varsity athletics, Greek life, Student Nursing Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP), Hillel, and I am a University Ambassador! I have been able to incorporate sports, social life, academics, and religion into my college experience. -
CLASS SIZE
Class sizes and the student-to-professor ratio make it easier to form relationships with not only my classmates but my professors as well. As a nursing major, it was really important to me to form relationships and not feel like just a number, and at West Chester that need is satisfied. I am able to be super hands-on in my labs and meet with my professors directly. -
TOWN
Last but certainly not least, the Borough of West Chester is one of the main reasons I chose and love my university. When choosing a school, I knew I preferred the town-feel over city-feel, and I love that town is just a short walk away from campus. There are so many shops and restaurants that even as a junior I have not seen it all! It is the perfect place to spend time with your friends and explore everything it has to offer. There is always something to experience: food festivals, 5Ks, and parades. The holiday parade hosted by QVC is a huge deal and so much fun!
As you can see, I genuinely love my university with every inch of me. I have had nothing but a positive experience at WCU. I can't wait to get back onto campus in the Spring semester!
