West Chester University is developing a new strategic plan to move the University beyond the accomplishments of the Plan for Excellence. The Strategic Planning Steering Committee is at work to draft a plan that will encompass issues framed by WCU students, faculty, staff, by external stakeholders and by the plans and initiatives already set forth or under discussion by across the University. The draft plan will be presented to the university in Spring Semester 2012 and adopted before the end of Academic year 2011-2012.
West Chester University was granted reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in June 2011.
West Chester University is implementing a planning process to update our current Comprehensive Campus Plan (CCP). Originally completed in early 2000, the CCP has reached the last year of its projections and must be evaluated and updated to reflect new ideas and direction for the coming decade.
The participation in the Campus Climate Survey was amazing! Given all of the competing demands on your time at this stage of the semester, I appreciate you making this a priority. During the summer, the survey results will be analyzed and compiled into a report.
In conjunction with the development of a new University Strategic Plan, The Academic Affairs Division is engaged in Academic Planning. The goal is to examine the division as it currently exists, and, in response to the changing higher education landscape, consciously assure that it is sustainable in a form directly tied to our core mission and central values. The expected outcome is a stronger Academic Affairs unit that supports our continued commitment to student success.
Understanding the University’s many constituencies is critical to fulfilling WCU’s mission. As a result, a number of campus offices engage in external assessments to collect information on institutional performance and image as well as community needs.
