Biography

Dr. Tully’s dissertation topic is: Level of Moral Reasoning and Background Factors as Predictors of BSW Students' Interest in Working with People in Poverty. In addition to serving as an Associate Professor in the Barry University School of Social Work (Miami, Florida), and as a Department Chair and Assistant Professor of Social Work at Iona College (New Rochelle, New York), he has taught at New York University and the Hunter School of Social Work. Dr. Tully's direct counseling experience includes individual, group, and community practice work with children and women survivors of abuse, persons dealing with HIV-AIDS and their loved ones, and adolescents in the probation system. He has presented lectures in the U.S. and internationally, and has published in the Encyclopedia of Social Work with Groups as well as several professional journals. He is President of the International Association for Social Work with Groups; he is a co-author of the 2012 book: Group Work: Gateway to Growth London, England: Whiting & Birch Publisher), and the 2013 book: Passion for Group Work: An International Conversation (London England: Whiting and Birch Publisher).
