Associate Professor of English
214 Lawrence Center
The Writing Center serves students, faculty, and staff campus-wide to foster developing writers. Writers gain transferrable skills that apply beyond the scope of 30-minute or 60-minute tutorials. Through recognizing diverse contexts and genres, tutors and writers navigate college expectations and prepare for experiences beyond graduation.

- "I was able to work through all the problems I had with this paper and get clear answers. I feel much more confident about writing this paper and future papers."
- "Really great session. I got some very positive feedback that made me feel good about the assignment and my writing ability."
The Writing Center requires appointments to be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance by deleting your appointment or calling the Writing Center during regular business hours. Cancelling an appointment without prior notice inconveniences the Writing Center staff and takes up an appointment time another student could have used. Failure to cancel with advanced notice two times will result in the loss of your Writing Center privileges for the remainder of the current semester. If you have any questions, please contact the Writing Center Director, Dr. Margaret Ervin.
In the event the university is closed or cancels classes due to inclement weather, the writing center will also be closed. Please reschedule your appointment or call to reschedule.
This recongnition is awarded each spring at the College of Arts and Sciences awards ceremony. See list of past recipients.
