Teaching: I teach exercise prescription for special populations, medical terminology, research methods (grad), advanced exercise physiology (grad) and whatever else is needed. I've transitioned several traditional face to face courses to both the hybrid and fully online format.
Research: My research primarily focuses on wellness and prevention. I value the collaborative nature of interdisciplinary research and recently completed a fall prevention program in older adults with colleagues from the sports medicine, nutrition and nursing departments.
Service: I'm currently serving as the co-chair of the University IRB and also serve on the Advising Task Force. I'm the co-advisor of the Exercise Science Club, and at the college level serve on the Honors and Awards and Student Faculty Research Award committees.
Interests/Passions Outside of Academe: The majority of my time is spent shuttling my three boys to their various activities (namely baseball). I'm an avid sports fan (baseball, and college baseball and basketball mainly) and also enjoy live music and exercising.
Times when I can meet: It varies by semester. I'm happy to work with any mentee to work out a schedule that works for both of us.
