Teaching: I primarily teach courses for our Actuarial Science majors. In addition, I serve as the coordinator for the Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance programs. I've designed many courses and currently enjoy teaching one course using a flipped method. I advise close to 70 students so I have implemented group advising.
Research: My mathematical research interests lie within the intersection of probability theory and applications to mathematical finance.
Service: I currently serve on the University Writing Council Advisory Board. I have served on many committees on campus including: the university's Tenure and Promotion Committee, the Service-Learning Working Group, the Writing Program Task Force, and the Women's and Gender Studies Steering Committee. I served on many departmental committees as well. I serve as a member of Congress to the Mathematical Association of America.
Interests/Passions Outside of Academe: I enjoy spending time with my family: my partner Chet and 5 year old son, Kyle. I like to swim and currently coach a swim team of 5 and 6 year olds. The crazy kids put a smile on my face every time I hit the pool deck!
Times when I can meet: It depends on the semester, but typically Monday and Wednesday mornings are free. I am flexible though.
