Teaching: I teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses at WCU. I teach courses in Psychology and for WCU’s Women’s and Gender Studies Program. I am also an advocate for international networking and study abroad initiatives and have taught for a semester at American College of Norway.

Scholarship: My overlapping teaching and scholarship interests include social psychology, qualitative research methods, diversity and intergroup relations, gender socialization, mentoring and rites of passage, psychology of utopian community and well-being, and animals and social justice.

Service: I have devoted the largest share of my campus-wide service efforts to helping develop WCU’s Faculty Mentoring Program. My professional service includes facilitating the Spectrum Award and Lesbian Psychologies Manuscript Award for the Association for Women in Psychology.

Interests/Passions Outside of Academe: When at home in South Philadelphia… I enjoy local coffee shops, pubs, and vegan cuisine. When in the countryside…I enjoy hiking and kayaking with my dog and gardening. As a single parent to a teen and a caregiver for my aging parents, I have found only one solution to maintaining a work-life balance is to embrace the circus and take up juggling!

Available Times to Meet With Your Mentee: I am available in the afternoons and evenings. Weekdays are best for meetings near WCU, but I can meet in Philly on weekends.
