Teaching: I teach mostly General Education writing/composition courses but [recently] I also have taught classes on pop culture, children's literature and educational technology. I have always believed that good teachers teach their students to teach each other.
Research: My scholarship involves understanding how emerging technology affects teaching and learning. I'm currently involved in a study related to the idea that "Everyone Can Code". I am also very interested in mobile pedagogy, specifically the relationship between literacy and eTexts.
Service: My service has revolved around two major themes: educational technology and advocacy for adjunct/contingent faculty (APSCUF). I also co-founded iNOV8 – an interdisciplinary, tech-centric collaborative group which is in the midst of creating a maker space in the library.
Interests/Passions Outside of Academe: As the father of three boys 8 and under, the majority of time outside of WCU is spent herding cats and as a quasi-uber driver. I also like all things that have a motor and four wheels and I am a big sports fan: DC Sports, ice hockey, football, and soccer. Additionally I'm a nature enthusiast.
Times when I can meet: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after 12pm.
