A Thriving Community

President, Christopher M. Fiorentino

President Fiorentino

West Chester University is pleased to join the Borough of West Chester in an innovative partnership that addresses the well-being and happiness of elders in our community. As a result of these efforts, the Borough of West Chester has been accepted as a member of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities.

WHO’s international network was launched in 2006 to help cities prepare for rapid population aging and to better meet the needs of older residents. The program has participating communities in more than 20 nations, as well as 10 affiliates representing more than 1,000 communities.

West Chester University is proud to collaborate with the Borough of West Chester to provide support to this initiative and demonstrate its ongoing commitment to the local, regional, and global community.
