Applied Public Policy

Our Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Applied Public Policy, although it is a liberal arts degree, is designed for students who are fairly certain they wish to seek a career analyzing public policy, working in government, or bringing their practical computer and survey skills to the government or business world.

A. Requirements (12 credits)

PSC 322 Public Opinion, Media and Politics

PSC 356 U.S. Public Policy

PSC 357 Advanced Political Analysis

PSC 358 Policy Analysis and Program Evaluation/ PSC 502 for MA level with approval from advisor

B. Two additional political science courses chosen from the following: (6 credits)

PSC 301, PSC 304, PSC 350, PSC 351, PSC 352, PSC 353, PSC 354,

PSC 355, PSC 359, PSC 371, PSC 375

Cognates distributed as follows: (9 credit hours)

1.) A sociology course selected under advisement

2.) An economics course selected under advisement

3.) A geography course taken under advisement
