    The Researcher is primarily responsible for identifying opportunities within the company where additional information and insight will improve business results.     Essential Duties:
    * Programming/analytical skills using one or more languages including SAS, R, Tableau, JMP, SQL, MS Access, MS Excel
    * Build data processes to efficiently extract data that is targeted to clients needs.
    * Ability to draw critical data elements together to provide succinct presentation that provides insight and guidance.
    * Primary focus on customer behavior characteristics and how they interact with QVC's programming - on-air and on-line.
    * Strong team building skills to bring together the appropriate people and coordinate the team's efforts toward a common goal.
    * Keep abreast of new technologies and analytic tools that can help increase efficiencies and learning.

    Preferred Qualifications :
    * 5+ years experience in Retail, Marketing Research, or related field with a proven analytical and business background.
    * BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Marketing, Economics or related field.
    * Experience in a variety of data base/analytical/statistical/BI tools: SQL, Access, Oraclem, Excel, Tableau, Microstrategy or similar, R, SAS, JMP
    * Experience in statistical/analytical areas like forecasting, risk assessment, logistic regression, or multivariate test design a plus.
    * Ability to frame upfront business problems and translate those issues into research plans and ultimately into actionable insights.
    * Demonstrated ability to take research initiatives from concept definition to actionable results.

    This will be the fourth year of the WCU Applied Statistics / Endo Pharmaceuticals Internship.  Endo Pharmaceuticals in Chadds Ford will hire one applied statistics student to work as a summer intern.  This is one of the best internship experiences that we offer, as the intern is fully immersed in important projects at Endo.

     While second-year students are preferred, exceptional first-year students will also be considered.  The successful candidate will be required to work full-time over the summer and register for three credit hours of internship credit over the summer.

    Builds deep expertise in Vanguard’s data and external data, especially pertaining to elements and characteristics relevant to marketing.  Documents this knowledge and applies it to complex marketing analytic projects.

    Engages in regular knowledge transfer through informal consultations with analytical crew, development of written documentation and metadata, and formal briefing events.

    Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.


    Qualifications
    Undergraduate degree in an analytically oriented major, such as economics, statistics, marketing research or an applied social science or equivalent combination of training and experience.
     Academic training in basic applied statistics.

    Job Description:

     

    The Research Associate handles a full range of project tasks under the direction of more senior team members. Depending on experience, he or she will be responsible for implementing various quantitative market research project tasks ranging from questionnaire development through data analysis and report writing. He or she is expected to develop a broad range of research expertise. 

    Responsibilities:

    • With general supervision, has responsibility for the successful implementation of assigned market research projects.
    • Independently constructs and implements analytical plans for simple studies and executes analysis plans with supervisor’s guidance for complex studies. Has primary responsibility for writing analysis programs using SAS and an in-house proprietary cross tabulation program.
    • Accurately and efficiently writes questionnaires from outline. Thoroughly tests questionnaires to ensure accuracy.
    • Ensures data is collected accurately by effectively managing the data collection process on assigned studies. Develops proficiency with custom research data collection methodologies and understands the applicability and the differences of the various methods.
    • Completes reports using analysis results from SAS and cross tabulations. Ensures accuracy of data.
    • Assists with and builds knowledge of market research projects by analyzing and interpreting market research data.
    • Solves day-to-day data/project related issues with minimal supervision.
    • Obtains bids for fieldwork, collects accurate information and coordinates the estimate for final review by the Engagement Manager/Director.

    Qualifications:

    • Solid analytical, communication and organizational skills required
    • Research Skills: This person must have strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of survey research design and methodology. Some knowledge of multivariate statistics is preferred.
    • Data Analysis: Ability to demonstrate quantitative skills using SPSS or SAS, plus the ability to merge and interpret data sets. Must have strong interest in working with large data sets.
    • Project Management: Ability to manage all aspects of project work.
    • Positive, upbeat attitude, natural inquisitiveness and desire to learn and grow
    • Communication: Must have ability to communicate clearly and cultivate relationships with clients and other team members.
    • Microsoft proficiency.
    • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in social sciences, business, or marketing. Master’s Degree preferred. 0-2 years market research experience.

    The 21st Century Partnership for STEM Education (“21PSTEM”) is a non-profit, regional leader in data-based analysis, program planning, innovative curricula and professional development involving science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education in K-12 and post-secondary institutions.  We are located in Conshohocken, PA.

    We are looking to hire an individual that possesses strong research skills, creativity, the ability to produce publication-quality reports and help develop research designs for large grants and programs.

    Qualifications (Required):

    Master in Applied Statistics or related field and/or applied experience

    Interest in education

    Experience in research design and analysis using mixed methods

    Experience using large multilevel data sets and creating datasets using multiple sources

    Experience with SPSS or SAS

    Strong up-to-date quantitative skills including but not limited to:

    ·     Analyses including logistic regression, multiple regression exploratory data analysis, factor analysis

    ·     Appropriate use of incomplete data sets and understanding of limitations of missing data
