Student & Parent Perception of School Discipline by Mike Snedden, Doctoral student at Shippensburg/Millersville University
Mike is currently serving as an assistant principal at Chambersburg Middle School North in the Chambersburg Area School District. There,he implemented team data meetings, student goal setting/mentoring meetings, and implemented a school data room. Spring 2017 he began the Millersville/Shippensburg joint EdD program. Through this program, he has developed a research passion for exclusionary discipline practices for low SES students.
Urban Parent Engagement in A High School by Mr. George E. Fitch, Jr., Doctoral student at Shippensburg/Millersville University
Mr. Fitch an Assistant Principal for the School District of The City of York. He has worked in urban education for the past 27 years in Washington DC, Prince Georges County Maryland, Pittsburgh and York, Pa. He has worked in traditional public schools and helped develop and start two charter schools. He has over 17 years of experience as an administrator in urban education, particularly dealing with the urban learner and urban family. Mr. Fitch is married to his wife of 20 years and is the proud parent of 3 children (one son and two daughters).
