Do you call a person with cancer, Cancer? No? Then why do we call someone with bipolar disorder, Bipolar? Mental illness is a topic that isn't talked about; but when it does it is often in a negative light. The people who suffer from these debilitating disorders, suffer quietly among us. My goal is to make it okay to talk about mental illness. I believe that when we start talking about it as something that is not negative is when we can start working through the stigmas. Knowledge is power and you never know what your friend, family member, or colleague is going through.
