Sue Mukherjee, Assistant Vice Chancellor
Sue Mukherjee is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Educational Intelligence for Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education. The State System comprises Pennsylvania's 14 public universities and is the largest provider of higher education in the Commonwealth, with the universities enrolling a combined more than 100,000 degree-seeking students and thousands more in certificate and other career-development programs. Sue is responsible for providing strategic decision-support for State System stakeholders in a manner that helps with student access and success and assists the System's universities individually and collectively increase their connection to Pennsylvania's economy. Before coming to work for the State System, she worked for the Pennsylvania departments of Labor & Industry and Education in various capacities, where she was responsible for development and implementation of policies, programs, and research that enhanced Pennsylvania's education development, data quality initiatives, and workforce development strategies. Her interest in education/research/data analysis/etc. stems from a long career that has concentrated on translating data into narratives that galvanize broad audiences and policy imperatives. Sue earned a Ph.D in Administrative Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is currently an Agency Fellow at the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University's Strategic Data Project and was recently appointed as a Commissioner on Governor Wolf's Commission for Asian Pacific American Affairs.
