Welcome to the home for education abroad activity at WCU. Education abroad changes lives, and the work of the Center for International Programs is guided by our commitment to promoting access to international education opportunities for our diverse population of students.
Finding the Right Program
Our office provides support for 3 types of education abroad programs, faculty/staff-led, exchange, and programs offered by our 8 affiliate partners. At CIP, we assist with all aspects of the application, approval, and pre-departure process to ensure that every student has an opportunity to successfully complete an international program, and maximize their academic and personal growth. The first step to learning more about education abroad opportunities at WCU is to register to attend an education abroad information session in the Center for International Programs.
Through the assistance of our office, we can also connect you with faculty/staff members leading programs abroad, past student participants, and representatives from our partner organizations:
- American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS)
- Arcadia University College of Global Studies
- Athena Study Abroad
- CEA Global Education
- Institute for American Universities (IAU College)
- International Studies Abroad (ISA)
- The Education Abroad Network (TEAN)
WCU Global Ambassadors Program
Students who have returned from education abroad programs have been selected to be peer advisors and assist with promoting study abroad on campus in a variety of ways. Our 10 WCU Global Ambassadors have studied and traveled in different locations and are a great resource for peer advising.
WCU is a commitment partner of Generation Study Abroad , a national movement to double US student participation in study abroad.
