What is the difference between the Player and HTML?
Player: The Player window is the central area from which you can view and find available training
modules, sections, and topics. You can then launch a desired topic in any of the three
available playback modes -- See It! Try It! and Know It! You can select Print It!
to print a topic in PDF format.
HTML: The HTML format lets you click a topic link that lists all the steps for the selected
topic. You can choose to click the Start Topic link at the bottom of the page to step
through the topic frame by frame, or click the Step # link at the end of a line of
instruction text to move immediately to the indicated frame.
What playback modes are available in UPK?
See It: This mode enables you to learn by watching an animated demonstration of tasks being
performed in a simulated environment. All the required activities, such as moving
the mouse and entering data, are completed automatically.
Try It: This mode enables you to learn interactively in a simulated environment. The Player
provides you with instructions on what needs to be done to complete a task, and you
perform the actual steps.
Know It: This mode enables you to test knowledge gained from training. You are instructed to
complete the steps for a particular task and you are scored on how accurately you
complete the steps. Know It mode is not available on all WCU topics in UPK.
How do I exit a Topic within the Player?
Hit the ESC key or click the "X" in the right corner of the bubble.
