Although SharePoint can be accessed using different web browsers, you may not have the full functionality of the application. If you are experiencing problems opening documents or saving documents, etc. while working within a browser, open SharePoint in Internet Explorer. This browser will provide the full functionality of the application.
Chrome has limited functionality when working in a library. Files are downloaded to your hard drive and are not automatically saved back to the SharePoint library when you save the document. Avoid using Chrome when working in SharePoint.
For MAC users, Safari is the browser of choice. To work with Office documents, you will need Office 2011 or higher for MACs. The Document Connection feature within Office 2011 should be enabled for the full functionality of Office 2011 to work with SharePoint.
