D2L Training

D2L training workshops are available to assist faculty and staff and are scheduled each month through the Faculty and Staff Training (FAST) team.

If you cannot attend one of our scheduled workshops, D2L staff will provide individual or group sessions upon request. To request a session, email

.  D2L Services has compiled a Documentation Library that contains guides and video tutorials to assist faculty and students with commonly used tools in D2L.

Helpful Tools

  • Camtasia: Camtasia is a powerful video creation and editing tool that allows you to capture anything on your screen, as well as import other video, music, photos and more to customize your video. The Camtasia Add-In for Powerpoint enables a quick and easy method to view the slideshow presentation and record voice-over. This software can be installed on faculty's WCU issued computers.   • Collaborate - Online rooms : BB Collaborate is a useful tool that allows faculty to schedule virtual "real-time" classrooms. Online rooms can be utilized in the following scenarios: when it is not possible to meet in an onsite classroom setting, to allow student groups to meet virtually, and to hold virtual office hours or one-on-one meetings.
  • My Media (Kaltura) : My Media is a secure audio/video streaming service (Kaltura) that is used to upload and manage media files for use in D2L.
  • Turnitin / Grademark : Turnitin checks student's dropbox submissions for potential plagiarism. The Originality Reports that are generated provide a summary of matching or highly similar text found in a submitted paper. Turnitin will search the web and all documents that have been submitted through the tool to check for originality.
