Release Final Grades

Communicate with students how they are performing in your course by releasing their final grades in the D2L Gradebook. Final Grades can be released automatically at the start of the semester or manually at any time during the semester. Final Adjusted Grade allows you to designate a final grade independent of the individual scores, points and assigned weights of grade items.

Release Final Grade During the Semester Automatically

The Final Calculated Grade can serve as a cumulative grade if released at the start of or during the semester. As grades are entered into the gradebook students will be able to view their progress based off the gradebook calculations.

  1. Click Assessments in the navigation bar and select Grades.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click the Calculations Options tab.
  4. Select the following 3 options for students to see their Final Grade.
    • Calculated Final Grade
    • Automatically release final grade
    • Drop ungraded items

Note: In order for students to have a true representation of their cumulative grade you will need to assign zeroes to any grade item that does not have a grade, up to the date grades are entered.

Release Final Calculated Grade Manually

  1. Click Assessments in the navigation bar and select Grades.
  2. Click on Enter Grades.
