The New Employee Checklist outlines some important information that supervisors should discuss with employees within the first days following their start date. Please return completed checklists to our office located at 201 Carter Drive, Suite 100.
This highly interactive half-day program is designed to help new staff successfully transition to WCU. President Fiorentino welcomes and shares the University mission, vision, strategic plan, and the importance of Distributed Leadership. Participants will also enjoy a van/walking tour of the campus and an interactive game show about what the campus has to offer. The new employee orientation experience concludes with a networking luncheon.
“It was a very valuable learning tool; as a greater information resource that I could never get just being employed here. I came to the understanding that my facilitators were passionate at what they do; that they worked hard over the years to provide the service at the extent to where it is today.”
“I want to thank you for inviting me to the New Employee's Welcome Orientation! Everything was very organized and informative, and our group was small and congenial. Both of you did an excellent job with your presentations as well as the other presenters. The game at the end was a great way to end our time together and the lunch was delicious. I can truly say I know more now about the University because of your efforts. Being employed for 6 weeks at the University has been a wonderful experience and your orientation was 'the icing on the cake!’”
“Thank you both so much for the orientation program today. I truly enjoyed meeting all of the other new employees and all of the information presented was interesting and helpful. The number of people involved and the length of time were perfect. I just wanted to let you know that I really do appreciate it.”
