18-23  Project Coordinator (Part-time) - Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (Manager 160)

Position Summary: Cheyney University of Pennsylvania seeks applicants for a part-time (20 hours per week) Project Coordinator for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) to provide business coaching and business development services to assist the DBEs in obtaining the business acumen necessary to compete with non-DBE firms for PennDot subcontracts. This position will be expected to meet deadlines, provide detailed written reports on the accomplishment of tasks and firms assigned. The incumbent will travel extensively across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as needed to fulfill these duties. Hours per day will vary dependent upon assigned tasks.

Responsibilities:

Develop service and training needs assessment, SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis and other assessments as needed for the DBE firms
Develop a plan for training for DBE firms.
Develop a marketing plan, marketing materials and comprehensive business plans for firms assigned.
Provide services, training and technical assistance as needed to assist firms in obtaining PennDOT subcontracts.
Record service and activity in database and other record systems as required by the DBE SSC.
Provide service and activity documentation as required by DBE SSC.
Participate in the outreach and implementation of outreach activities including training and networking events as well as hosting exhibit tables when needed.
Develop a knowledge base consisting of PennDOT compliance and the heavy highway industry.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.


Requirements: Minimum of two years' experience in training or consulting in business or technology programs is required. A bachelor's degree preferred in any related discipline or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access (or similar database program). Training Instructional design and development skills; strategic and analytical thinking; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written. Excellent understanding and interpretation of statistical data are desirable. Ability to develop/design marketing material desirable.
