Troops to Teachers

West Chester University [WCU] is partnering with Slippery Rock University [SRU] with the support of a Pennsylvania Department of Education [PDE] Troops to Teachers grant to recruit potential candidates for a yearlong Troops to Teachers [TTT] program. The yearlong certification program leading to PA level I teacher certification will focus on recruiting troops with an undergraduate degree in STEM fields [Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Mathematics or foreign languages] and prepare them to teach in high needs school districts. All potential candidates will be admitted through Slippery Rock. The main coursework will be delivered online, facilitated by faculty from both SRU and WCU. Teacher candidates from the … will receive support throughout their practicum and student teaching semester from WCU faculty. Prospective veterans who do not meet the requirements of the SRU and WCU TTT PA Regional Partnerships may still be eligible to participate in Troops to Teachers in other ways by registering at www.proudtoserveagain.com and requesting assistance from tttpennsylvania@j2tinfo.com. Bonuses ‘may’ be available.
