Digital Learning Orientation

Students new to online learning or the learning management system, Desire2Learn (D2L), can complete short tutorials on learning technologies and digital skills provided through the D2L site called Navigating Digital Learning.  The site is available to all active students who have their university issued email.

Each short tutorial or unit contains at least one task a student completes to demonstrate understanding of that tutorial's content.  Tasks can be attempted as many times as necessary to pass them.  When a student completes a tutorial, they receive a digital badge.  Completing specific combinations of tutorials can earn students additional certifications.

Students either complete units on their own or a course instructor may require specific units be completed as part of getting started in a course.  If faculty or students have questions about Navigating Digital Learning they can email
