NASPAA Accreditation

Dr. Jeff Osgood, Chair of the Department of Public Policy and Administration

Dr. Jeff Osgood (Public Policy and Administration) discussed the Department of Public Policy and Administration's journey to become accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).

Dr. Osgood, chair of the Department of Public Policy and Administration, was featured as the member spotlight in the NASPAA monthly newsletter. Speaking about what encouraged the department to seek NASPAA accreditation, Dr. Osgood explained that it was well worth the five-year effort since the accreditation plays a large role for students and employers alike. The high standards that come along with accreditation produce students who are able to succeed in the public sector environment. Dr. Osgood believes that acquiring the accreditation not only led to an increase in the quality of applicants but also to an increase in interest in the program overall.
