Students Win 9 AIGA Awards

West Chester University Senior Brindy Gibbs took home Best of Show in the 2017 AIGA Flux Student Competition. Seniors Megan Marianelli and James O’Toole, as well as juniors Tara Shachter, Colleen Kochanasz, and Christina Robinson also won awards (7 in total!!). View Student Artwork.

Professor Wins Adobe Creative Jam

WCU Art + Design Professor David Jones took home the top prize at Adobe Creative Cloud's Creative Jam Philadelphia.


Theatre and Dance to host 2016 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival

The event being held January 12th-16th, 2016, will draw over 1,200 theatre artists to our campus to experience 7-9 fully staged productions, a fringe festival, the development of new works, student design exhibits, and more.



Peter Collier '11 Receives Off Broadway Review

"But the play finally comes to life with the arrival of Zack (Peter Collier)... Collier’s exchanges with [Austin] Pendleton are hilarious and work on many levels...In a meta sense, one cannot ignore that we are watching a young actor, who has only had the opportunity to read Uta Hagen, squaring off with the great Pendleton, who actually studied with her." Alumna Joins Mighty Engine

Mackenzie Sheely '15 recently started working for Mighty Engine. Her first project will consist of designing billboards, bus shelter wraps, and bus ads for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.


Alum Contributes to Cannes Award

TBWA\Media Arts Lab wins the Grand Prix for Apple with the support of Art + Design Alum Shawn Schrader '02.



College Collaboration Project

WCU Theatre and Dance is proud to work with The Farm Theater in 2018 on the College Collaboration Project! The Farm will collaborate with West Chester University (April 2018) on a commission by playwright Jan Rosenberg. Keep Reading



Alumna Wins Helen Hayes Award

Kimberly Gilbert '98 was awarded the 2015 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actress for the production of "Marie Antoinette" with the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.


CAH Launches Live Streaming

Over the Summer of 2015, the College of Arts and Humanities upgraded its theatre spaces with new HD cameras and recording equipment. The changes have enabled the College to provide high quality live streaming of student and faculty performances. View Schedule of Live Streams



Using Art for Social Change

Sapphire Johnson's summer began with her first-ever trip to New York City for a six-day experience she shared with 45 other young performing artists from across the country. She won a full scholarship to ASTEP's Artist As Citizen Conference, held at the Julliard School. Keep Reading

Art + Design Alum David Goldhahn '12 has been named Creative Manager for Marbaloo. Notable clients include UMG Nashville, Sony Music Nashville, Dot Records, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, and Tim McGraw.

Assistant Professor Charlie DelMarcelle has been nonimated for three Barrymore Awards For Excellence in Theatre.
