LGBTQA Services works closely with the Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA) Student Organization to create a safe space for individuals to talk and explore their thoughts and feelings
about sexual orientation, sexuality, and gender identity. The Director of LGBTQA
Services is the advisor to SAGA and assists the group in creating a warmer campus
climate for everyone.
The SAGA Student Group office is located in 233 Sykes Student Union.
The LGBTQA Services office has temporarily moved to 238 Sykes Student Union.
Members of our LGBTQA Speak Out program are available to speak to campus organizations and classes on LGBTQA related topics. Students tell their coming out stories and then invite the audience to ask questions and share their thoughts. This allows students to make personal connections and hear the stories of their peers, while also facilitating an appropriate space to ask any questions. The "Speak Outs" are a great opportunity for volunteers to participate in raising awareness and sensitivity to LGBTQA issues.
Bring this to your classroom/club: Pleasesend us an e-mail
expressing your interest. At least two weeks notice is appreciated in order to organize the panelists.
Get involved as a volunteer: If you would like to volunteer to "tell your story" and serve as a panelist, pleasesend us an e-mail.
Speak Out training occurs once per semester.
