Unaccompanied Homeless Youth

How to Apply for Assistance

  1. If you have not done so already, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and answer “Yes” to:
    1. a. Question #56: If your high school or school district liaison has determined you were an unaccompanied homeless youth or were a self-supporting and at risk of being homeless on or after July 1.
    2. b. Question # 57: At any time on or after July 1, did the director of an emergency shelter or transitional housing program funded by the U.S. department of Housing and Urban development determine that you were an unaccompanied youth who was homeless or were self-supporting and at risk of being homeless?
    3. c. Question #58: At any time on or after July 1, did the director of a runaway or homeless youth basic center or transitional living program determine that you were an unaccompanied youth who was homeless or were self-supporting and at risk of being homeless?
  2. Optional: Complete Survey for Determination.
