Starting January 1, 2015, ALL STUDENTS who are interested in being reviewed for federal and state aid for Fall 2015 are required to file the FAFSA by the March 1, 2015 priority deadline--Federal Code 003328.
Tips for Applying
Don't wait to be accepted by the college/university to submit the FAFSA. You can start January 1, 2015.
If you were previously using a PIN to sign your FAFSA, you will now need to apply for an FSA ID and password.
If you do not have an FSA ID, visit fsaid.ed.gov to create one.
What should I do if I have a Federal Direct, Nursing, or Perkins Student Loan?
If you have a Federal Student Loan in your aid package you MUST take ACTION on your student loan. ACCEPT, ADJUST, DECLINE your loan by logging into myWCU.
1st time Federal Direct Student Loan recipients: Complete an Entrance Counseling Session and Sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN) at www.studentloans.gov.
1st time Federal Nursing Student Loan recipients: Contact the aid office to schedule an In-person Counseling session. Bring your completed Nursing Loan materials with you.
1st time Federal Perkins Student Loan recipients: Complete an Entrance Counseling Test, Loan Interview, Review and Accept your personalized TLID statement, and Sign your Master promissory note- MPN at iPromise.
Do you need to apply for a Parent Loan for an Undergraduate Student-PLUS?
As a parent, you can apply for a loan, up to the Cost of Attendance, to help pay for your student's educational expenses.
This is a credit worthy loan. If the loan is not approved, the student may request additional Unsubsidized Direct Loan funding.
Did you ACTIVATE YOUR BURSAR'S ACCOUNT?
If your anticipated aid exceeds the charges on your account summary/bill, ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT.
Contact the Bursar's office regarding your bill, book vouchers and refund checks.
