Preparing for Job Interviews

Any organization will have its own process for completing interviews. It is common for candidates to complete multiple interviews with the same organization prior to being offered a position. A first-round interview is often brief (30-60 minutes); these are also referred to as "screening interviews," when employers gather their first assessment of your skills and experiences. Second-round and additional interviews are longer (several hours to a full day!). You will typically meet with multiple people in the organization, receive a tour, and/or be asked to give a presentation. When you are invited to an interview, gather as many details as possible about the structure of your interview and who you will be meeting, so you can best prepare for their process.
