Dr. Christopher Hanning joined the WCU faculty in 1995 as the Director of Percussion Activities. In 2008 he began serving as the Chair of Applied Music and most recently as the Interim Dean of the School of Music. Dr. Hanning has performed and recorded with numerous ensembles including the Bach Choir of Bethlehem Festival Orchestra, the Relâche Ensemble, and hundreds of recordings for NFL Films heard on every major television network. He has been active in various leadership roles since 2003 with the Percussive Arts Society and is currently serving as President-Elect.
Dr. Hanning holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Colorado, a Master of Music from the University of Akron, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Percussion Performance from the University of South Florida.
