Teaching: I am a big fan of active learning strategies and technology in the classroom. I use simulations, experiments, group projects. I love teaching technologies: Google docs, sheets, forms, slides, audience response systems. I'm a fan of anything that makes teaching easier! I've written an iBook with embedded videos, and I'm pretty good at Prezi and D2L. In 25 years of teaching I have tried dozens of strategies to improve learning. Some things have worked, but I am also an expert in errors and bad ideas!
Research: I like pedagogy research and anything my students are interested in as long as it's micro and data driven. I am particularly interested in sustainability lately.
Service: I've been President of Faculty senate, served on the executive committee of CAPC, numerous committees in the school of business and public affairs.
Interests/Passions Outside of Academe: My wife and children: 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th grade boys. In my spare time (hah!): mountain biking, fishing, hiking, camping, gardening, the Philadelphia Eagles. I loathe soccer.
Times when I can meet: I teach MWF in the fall and Tues/Thurs in the spring. I live 2 miles from campus, so it's easy to meet on the "off" days.
