Teaching: I am a forensic chemist and teach forensic chemistry and forensic microscopy. I enjoy curriculum building and new course development. I am a site evaluator for program accreditation and have visited and evaluated other schools. I also serve as the assessment coordinator for the department.

Research: I am a lab rat. I am perfectly happy being in the lab and doing research all day. My research is primarily focused on detection of illicit substances and helping law enforcement agencies combat these issues. I have written several grants and have been funded locally and federally for my research.

Service: I have served on a few committees on campus. My departmental work with the program keeps me busy but I have been on some university-wide committees where I have met some interesting people.

Interests/Passions Outside of Academe: I am a foodie. My husband and I travel for food and we love exploring world foods. We are passionate about Hispanic and Caribbean cuisine (having lived in Miami before). We love our local church. Sunday is my favorite day of the week.

Times when I can meet: I am on campus all days of the week but would prefer to meet for lunch or chai on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
